Terms of Service — NUST Navigator

Independent Student Platform NUST Navigator is an independent platform built, owned, and operated entirely by NUST students. It has no official affiliation with, endorsement from, or formal connection to the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) or any of its departments, offices, or administrative bodies. The university does not control, manage, or fund this platform in any way.

Accountability Notice NUST Navigator is not anonymous. Every account is tied to the student's verified NUST email address, and every post, comment, review, or message you submit is permanently linked to your account. Administrators are able to identify the author of any content on the platform for moderation purposes. If a student is found to have engaged in unethical, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate conduct through this platform, that conduct will be reported to NUST administration, and the university may take strict disciplinary action against the student involved, in addition to any action taken within the app (content removal, suspension, or permanent ban).

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using NUST Navigator ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use the Platform.

2. About This Platform

NUST Navigator is a student-built, student-owned, and student-controlled social platform created for the NUST community. It operates independently and is not an official NUST product or service. Any views, content, or opinions expressed by users on this Platform are their own and do not represent the views of NUST or any of its affiliated institutions.

3. Eligibility

The Platform is intended for current NUST students, faculty, and officially recognized NUST societies. Registration generally requires a valid NUST-affiliated email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Identity, Traceability & Disciplinary Action

As stated above, content you post is not anonymous to the Platform's administrators. By using NUST Navigator, you acknowledge and accept that:

Your account and all associated activity (posts, comments, reviews, likes, reports, and feedback) is linked to your NUST student email.
Administrators may review reported or flagged content together with the identity of the account that posted it.
Where conduct on the Platform appears to violate NUST's code of conduct, academic policies, or applicable law, administrators may escalate the matter to NUST's relevant disciplinary or administrative bodies, who may take independent action under university policy — separate from, and in addition to, any moderation action taken on the Platform itself.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform to:

Harass, bully, threaten, defame, or demean any person or group;
Post hate speech, or content that discriminates on the basis of religion, ethnicity, gender, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
Impersonate any person, society, or university office, or misrepresent your affiliation with NUST;
Post sexually explicit, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate content;
Share another person's private information without their consent (doxxing);
Post spam, unauthorized advertising, or solicit money or services for personal gain;
Upload content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, the Platform's infrastructure, or interfere with its normal operation;
Use the Platform to facilitate academic dishonesty or any other violation of NUST's academic or disciplinary policies.

6. Content You Post

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting on the Platform, you grant NUST Navigator a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within the app for the purpose of operating its features. You are solely responsible for the content you share and for ensuring you have the right to share it.

7. Moderation & Enforcement

Administrators may, at their discretion and without prior notice, remove content, issue warnings, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Reported content and accounts are reviewed by administrators, who may take any of the actions described in Sections 4 and 7 depending on the severity of the violation.

8. Societies & Official Accounts

Society accounts are issued to officially recognized NUST societies and are expected to represent that society accurately. Misuse of a society account is attributable to the individuals operating it and may result in the same enforcement and disciplinary consequences described above.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how it is used. By using the Platform, you also agree to that policy.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, at our discretion, with or without notice.

11. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. As an independent student-run platform with no official university backing, NUST Navigator and its administrators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform, including content posted by other users, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
